FAQ When buying a Louis Vuitton
Vixen Fashion is a vintage boutique and sells authentic items only. Years in the business have given me knowledge. I would like to share a little with you!!! ***Do all LV bags have a serial number? No, they have date codes. LV bags don’t have serial numbers, and that is what puts them apart from a lot of brands, plus it is easy to identify a fake. ... These only help customers authenticate bags if they are not directly purchasing from Louis Vuitton stores or a very trusted reseller. It can be very confusing so best to ask an expert and be sure if you are spending a lot of money! ***What year did Louis Vuitton start using date codes? Early in 1990, Louis Vuitton moved the factory letters to the front and revised the numbering on its date codes. The first and third numbers represent the month, and the second and fourth numbers represent the year. Example* The FL0041 date code means that the bag was made in France, in April of 2001. ***Can Louis Vuitton bags have the same date code? Louis Vuitton's date codes are not serial numbers - they simply serve to identify the manufacturing location and date for a Louis Vuitton handbag. Therefore, many Louis Vuitton bags can have exactly the same date code. However, just because it has a date code does not necessarily indicate the bag is real. ***What does Louis Vuitton do with unsold merchandise? Similar to Chanel, LV happens to burn leftover goods at the end of the year. If the bags are not sold, they burn them in order to prevent putting a lower price on them. Historically, it's known that LV does not put its items on sale. This is done to sustain value. (So buying a LV is an investment and you are going to be happy with this purchase for sure!!!)
